Qualifications & Credentials:
- A minimum score of 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Current RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) Certification
- Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings
- Strong understanding of classroom dynamics and confidentiality protocols
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) during classes, activities, and meetings
- Provide clear communication for students, staff, and families in diverse academic situations
- Support students’ social and academic inclusion through accurate, context-appropriate interpretation
- Collaborate with educators and support personnel to foster a positive learning environment
