Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting is highly valued
- Open to enthusiastic interpreters even without certification
- Comfortable working one-on-one with students in kindergarten or 3rd grade
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and supervisors in a school community
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate ASL interpretation between students, staff, and peers
- Support individual student needs throughout their school day, from classroom instruction to group activities
- Foster an inclusive, accessible environment for learning by ensuring effective communication
- Maintain professionalism, sensitivity, and confidentiality in all interactions
- Participate in training and work closely with supportive school teams
