Sign Language Interpreter in North Bennington, VT

This role centers on providing dedicated interpreting services for either a kindergarten or third-grade student, allowing you to make a tangible difference in their daily education. You’ll work closely with teachers and a supportive staff, ensuring full communication access and a positive, inclusive classroom experience.
Your schedule runs full-time, from 8:30am to 3pm, within one school location for each assignment—promoting a strong sense of routine and connection with your student. Immediate openings are available and the assignment continues through mid-June, offering stability throughout the school year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Enthusiasm for working with young children and a collaborative school team
- Open to both certified and non-certified candidates with proven ASL skills
- Ability to adapt interpreting strategies to students’ individual needs and classroom activities
- Professionalism, reliability, and a student-focused approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, peer interactions, and school communications for your assigned student
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to address learning and access needs
- Support students in both academic and social settings throughout the school day
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in educational interpreting
