Make a significant impact supporting students as an educational sign language interpreter in a dynamic, onsite role near Arvada, CO. In this full-time, full-school-year contract opportunity, you’ll work across multiple school sites in an itinerant capacity, collaborating with both special education and general education teams. This position welcomes interpreters experienced with a wide range of student needs, from mild to severe, and provides an engaging setting where every day offers new ways to support student communication and access.
To thrive in this role, you bring:
- Current CDE Authorization for educational sign language interpreting (required)
- A passing EIPA score of 3.5 or above (mandatory per district and state standards)
- Demonstrated skill interpreting for diverse student populations, including both SPED and general education classrooms
- Adaptability and confidence traveling between school locations within the district
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with staff, educators, and families
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clear, accurate interpretation for students, staff, and school activities
- Supporting equitable access to the full range of classroom instruction and events
- Collaborating with education teams to meet students’ IEP/504 goals
- Adapting to a variety of classroom settings and age groups as an itinerant interpreter
- Maintaining required records and documentation as needed
- Participating in professional development and ongoing training
