Qualifications:

  • Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization (or ability to obtain)
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or related field
  • EIPA Written Examination passed
  • EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or current RID Certification
  • Background screening and all Colorado Department of Education compliance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Prior experience in educational interpreting and strong ASL proficiency preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ASL interpretation throughout the instructional day
  • Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and events
  • Facilitate communication among students, staff, and teachers
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with FERPA and district policies
  • Prepare for assignments by reviewing materials as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers and service providers to support students
  • Uphold professional standards for educational interpreting
