Qualifications:

3.5 on EIPA required
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with experience interpreting in educational settings
Previous work as a Sign Language Interpreter or ASL teacher in K-12 schools preferred
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Clear communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic classroom environments

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across general and special education classrooms
Foster communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff
Support classroom instruction, school activities, and extracurricular events as needed
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all educational interactions
Participate in professional meetings, workshops, and ongoing training
Assist teachers and staff in understanding the needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students
Prepare and maintain accurate logs and documentation related to interpreting services
