Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter license
  • ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting within pediatric or educational settings
  • Experience providing 1:1 interpreting services to school-aged children
  • Openness to working on site throughout the contract assignment
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for a pediatric student in classroom and school-wide settings
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment by accurately conveying communication between the student, peers, and school staff
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement the student’s educational plan
  • Maintain compliance with confidentiality and professional standards at all times
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to fit the individual needs of the assigned student
