Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Centralia, Washington

Based onsite for the full 2026–2027 school year, you’ll have the chance to foster communication and inclusion in an engaging learning environment.
In this full-time position (30 hours per week), your expertise will directly impact the academic and social success of an elementary student. This assignment involves working at a single school and collaborating closely with a supportive educational team.
Desired Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 4.0 or greater OR demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience interpreting in K-12 settings, particularly with elementary students, is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt communication style
- Flexible, patient, and responsive to the needs of students who may be new to interpretation services
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation between the student, educators, and peers during classroom instruction and school activities
- Facilitate accessible learning by interpreting lessons, discussions, and school events
- Support the student’s integration and participation within the school community
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to share strategies for effective communication
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school policies
