- Previous experience supporting students within school environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of educational settings and ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and staff during classroom instruction and school activities.
- Interpret lessons, class discussions, and student interactions using American Sign Language and/or other manual communication systems as appropriate.
- Assist in modifying instructional materials to promote accessibility and inclusion.
- Participate in educational team meetings and collaborate on strategies to support student success.
- Uphold ethical standards of the interpreting profession and maintain records as required.
