Responsibilities you’ll enjoy:
- Provide interpreting services primarily in a 1:1 setting for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Work collaboratively with DHH teachers and other classroom professionals, contributing to a supportive educational environment
- Rotate through a consistent set of school buildings within the Eugene area to foster strong working relationships
- Uphold ethical standards in sign language interpretation and confidentiality at all times
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet individual student needs in various academic settings
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Completion of interpreter training program (must provide proof of training)
- Demonstrated proficiency with an IEPA score above 3.5
- Valid and current Sign Language Interpreter licensure (all certifications will be verified)
- Prior experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in a school environment preferred
- Professional references required prior to interview process
- Preference will be given to those who can indicate ZIP code and caseload or grade level preferences
