Qualifications and Requirements:
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher (required)
- Experience providing ASL interpreting services in an educational or similar setting
- Comfortable working 1:1 with students, supporting both academic and social situations
- Ability to work full-time, consistently on-site
- Flexibility and professionalism in adapting to a range of student needs
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate ASL interpretation between students, staff, and faculty
- Foster inclusivity by facilitating active participation in classroom activities and campus events
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in line with relevant codes for interpreters
- Assist with educational material comprehension and social interactions as needed
- Participate as a vital member of the student support team, collaborating with educators and administrators
