Key Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with an ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric populations
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of individual students
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
- Commitment to professional conduct and confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 sign language interpretation for a pediatric student throughout the school day
- Facilitate communication between the student, educators, and peers, ensuring full access to instruction and activities
- Support student participation and understanding of academic material and school routines
- Collaborate with the educational team to implement strategies that enhance learning and inclusion
- Maintain accurate records of services delivered and student progress
- Adhere to school policies and maintain a supportive, positive presence within the classroom
