Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Denver, Colorado
Step into a rewarding role interpreting for students across a variety of settings near Denver, CO! This full-time, full-school-year opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by supporting both Special Education and General Education classrooms, ranging from mild to severe needs. As an itinerant sign language interpreter, you’ll collaborate with teams at multiple school sites, building relationships and ensuring equitable access to instruction for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid CDE Authorization as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter (or eligible and willing to obtain)
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Proven experience interpreting in educational settings with a broad range of student abilities
- Proficiency in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Flexibility to travel between school sites (itinerant role)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and school events for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in both Special Education and General Education environments
- Collaborate with educators and other interpreters to ensure consistent, high-quality interpretation services
- Adapt interpreting techniques for individual student needs and classroom settings
- Maintain compliance with confidentiality and ethical standards
- Attend relevant meetings and training sessions as required by the district
As an onsite-only, contract position, this role allows you to work closely with school staff and students in person every day. Your contributions will help foster an inclusive environment where all students can thrive academically and socially.
