Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, particularly within school settings, is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work 1:1 with young children, exhibiting patience and adaptability
- Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpreting services between spoken English and ASL for a Pre-K student
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and school staff
- Support the student’s comprehension of classroom instruction, activities, and social interactions
- Collaborate with educators and support teams to ensure the student’s needs are met
- Maintain accurate documentation related to interpreting services as required
- Foster a nurturing and encouraging learning atmosphere for the student
