Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and professional interpreting skills
- VQAS Level III certification or equivalent, or EIPA Written Test and minimum 3.5 Performance Test score
- Experience with K-12 educational interpreting strongly preferred
- Familiarity with special education processes and student needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and discretion
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate ASL interpretation throughout the school day for classroom activities, field trips, and assemblies
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers
- Collaborate with educators to support student access and participate in IEP/staff meetings as needed
- Offer feedback about communication needs and student progress while maintaining confidentiality
