Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting.
- Hold VQAS Level III or equivalent, or EIPA Written and min. 3.5 EIPA Performance score.
- Experience providing interpreting services in a K-12 setting is preferred.
- Understanding of the educational needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional interpreter training or credentials preferred.
- Previous experience with IEPs and collaboration with educational teams desirable.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate sign language interpretation throughout school activities, classes, meetings, and events.
- Facilitate effective communication among students, staff, and peers.
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet individual student needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
