School Sign Language Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a school-based setting in the 87305 area for the 2026–2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities in real time
- Support communication access during assemblies, extracurricular activities, and IEP meetings as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Assist in implementing individualized IEP goals related to communication access
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with school policies
- Adapt interpreting approach to meet the individual communication needs of students
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- State certification/licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification) required or preferred per state guidelines
- Previous school-based or educational interpreting experience preferred
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to pass all required background checks and school clearances
