Key Qualifications:
- Valid Educational Interpreter Permit required
- Proof of high school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Human Trafficking Training and Child Abuse and Neglect Training
- One of the following credentials:
- Successful completion of the EIPA written test AND a score of 3.5 or higher on the EIPA skill test
- OR proof of RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and interpreting within school settings
- Exceptional interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpretation practices
Position Details:
- Serve onsite at the Head Start Center, providing 1:1 interpretation for a DHH student
- Work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm (30 hours per week)
- Support the student’s academic, social, and daily classroom engagement
- Collaborate closely with educators and school staff to adapt communication for student success
- Foster an inclusive, accessible, and positive environment
