Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Credentialed or certified as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, EIPA, or equivalent preferred).
- Experience working with children or within educational settings, particularly in early childhood or elementary environments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive student information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instructions, activities, and interactions between staff, students, and peers in real time.
- Support the student’s integration and participation in all areas of the school day.
- Adapt interpreting styles as needed based on student’s language development and educational content.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and related service providers for consistent educational support.
