The position begins with the 2026/2027 school year, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Certification required
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience interpreting in educational settings and/or with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing during classroom instruction and school activities
- Accurately convey spoken and signed communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Assist instructional staff in adapting materials as needed to support student access
- Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Support students' social interaction and participation in schoolwide events
