Key Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 4.0 (including the written component) and current listing on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry – Dept. of Health)
- Alternatively, possession of RID and NIC credentials (written component still required)
- Previous VOCO experience is required
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Ability to collaborate professionally within a school setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, conversations, and school events for high school aged students
- Support individualized education plan (IEP) meetings and other academic functions as needed
- Facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and families
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in line with district and state requirements
- Flexibly serve multiple campuses as assigned with the caseload determined by district needs
Role Details:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday (school calendar)
- Contract runs from now through May 27, 2027
- Caseload and school assignment to be determined based on student needs
