Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language interpretation, with previous VOCO (virtual interpreting) experience
- EIPA score of 4.0 (including written component) OR listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Department of Health); RID and NIC certifications accepted with written test completion
- Familiarity with educational settings and interpreting for high school-aged individuals
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sign language interpretation for secondary students in a school setting, adapting to individual educational needs and class subjects
- Work with teachers, staff, and families to ensure effective communication and student engagement
- Facilitate interpretation both in-person and virtually as required
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to confidentiality standards within the school environment
- Address and adapt to evolving caseload assignments across one or more campus locations as designated
