Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Licensed or certified as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Experience working in school environments, particularly with students who are DHH (Deaf or Hard of Hearing)
- Ability to interpret in a classroom setting and adapt communication for young learners
- Clear background check and relevant documentation as required for work in educational institutions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver real-time interpretation for one DHH student throughout the school day
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, peers, and educational staff
- Support the student in classroom activities, group settings, and individual instruction
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure an inclusive and engaging learning experience
