Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Hampton, Virginia

Desired Qualifications:
- 3.5 EIPA or VQAS Level II/III certification required
- Prior experience providing interpretation in a school setting is strongly preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of ASL (American Sign Language), Deaf culture, and best practices in educational interpreting
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when collaborating with teachers, students, and special education teams
- Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, conversations, and school activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Work closely with other educational professionals to ensure students have full access to curriculum and campus life
- Provide accurate, confidential, and appropriate communication facilitation
