Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and active Louisiana teacher’s certification in Hearing Impaired
- Minimum of 3 years experience supporting hearing-impaired students in school settings
- Proficiency in basic sign language and troubleshooting specialized hearing equipment
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative spirit with an inclusive leadership style
- Ability to maintain detailed records, IEPs, and reports
- Must successfully complete district-required fingerprints and drug screening prior to start
Responsibilities:
- Deliver IEP-directed educational services to hearing-impaired students
- Support regular classroom teachers in integrating hearing-impaired students
- Request and manage materials and assistive devices
- Conduct in-service training for school staff
- Maintain contact with families through progress notes and reporting
