Flexible scheduling is available, with both full-day and afternoon-only shifts considered.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for classroom settings
- Holds or can obtain, at minimum, a PROVISIONAL interpreter license if EIPA score is under 4.0
- Previous experience working in K-12 schools, especially with early learners, preferred
- Ability to establish rapport with students, staff, and the wider school community
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism, punctuality, and a commitment to confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa, ensuring seamless communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support lesson delivery and student engagement
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment by encouraging participation and understanding
- Provide feedback and support to both students and staff as needed
- Maintain accurate records and observe district guidelines and best practices
