What You’ll Bring:
- Valid IL SLI License issued by ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education)
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English interpretation
- Experience facilitating communication in educational settings preferred
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
What You’ll Do:
- Interpret spoken and signed communication between students, faculty, and staff
- Support classroom instruction, assemblies, and extracurricular activities as needed
- Foster student participation and engagement in both academic and social contexts
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other interpreters to promote student success
- Maintain professional standards according to state and district policies
