In this role, you will:
- Provide accurate and timely interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language for students, staff, and families
- Facilitate effective classroom communication, ensuring full access to educational content and peer interaction
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt content and resources as needed
- Adhere to professional confidentiality and ethical standards in all interpreting assignments
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required by the education team
Candidates best suited for this role will have:
- A valid Illinois Sign Language Interpreter License through ISBE
- Proven fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational settings
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to student inclusion
- Previous experience in school-based interpreting (preferred, not required)
- Professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability
This role offers compensation ranging from $31 to $33 per hour, paid weekly, ensuring prompt financial support for your expertise.
