Key Qualifications:
- Completion of interpreter training and licensure required for educational interpreting in Oregon
- Achieved a score above 3.5 on the IEPA assessment (please ensure all documentation is current and included)
- Experience or comfort working as the primary interpreter for a student, as well as part of a DHH team
- Strong communication, flexibility, and a positive, collaborative attitude
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation for 1:1 student support during classroom instruction and school activities
- Partner with DHH teachers, classroom aides, and other support staff to facilitate student access and participation
- Maintain professional standards for confidentiality, cultural competence, and ethical interpreting
- Provide regular feedback and recommendations regarding students’ communication needs and progress
