What we're looking for:
- Completion of interpreter training
- An IEPA score above 3.5 (required)
- All appropriate and current licensure and certifications relevant for a school setting
- Demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational environments
- Flexibility and comfort with both independent and collaborative work
- Strong interpersonal communication and a professional demeanor
Role highlights:
- Deliver 1:1 interpreting support to students, traveling between a designated set of school buildings
- Collaborate with experienced DHH colleagues and classroom support staff
- Adapt communication strategies to meet diverse student needs and grade levels
- Ensure clear, effective interpretation of both spoken and signed content during the school day
- Participate actively in team meetings and student progress reviews
