Key Qualifications:
- Current credential of Level 3 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) OR certification through National Association of the Deaf (NAD) OR National Interpreter Certification (NIC, NIC-A, NIC-M, CI/CT, CSC) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
- Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-8 students, is highly valued
- Ability to complete and submit a cold interpreting sample for evaluation as part of the screening process
- Willingness to complete required fingerprinting; familiarity with Florida’s credentialing process and AHCA Clearinghouse is a plus
Role Highlights:
- Deliver high quality, on-site sign language interpretation for DHH classrooms at one school site—opportunities may arise at additional campuses within the district
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure seamless communication and foster inclusion for all students
- Support a variety of classroom activities and age groups, adapting to varied schedules across locations such as middle and elementary schools
- Ensure accurate, confidential, and ethical interpretation at all times
