Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Interpreting
- National certification, such as NIC from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) credential
- Excellent receptive and expressive ASL skills
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to adapt to shifting schedules and varied caseloads
- Successful completion of district onboarding and credentialing process
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate interpretation for students, staff, and families in classrooms and during school events
- Adapt communication methods to suit various age groups and academic levels (caseload and specific assignments TBD)
- Facilitate communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and their peers and educators
- Maintain ethical standards and student confidentiality at all times
- Attend staff meetings and professional development as required by the district
- Complete necessary documentation and timesheets in accordance with district procedures
This contract offers a full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week, August 2026 to May 2027) and a dynamic, collaborative environment in which your skills are invaluable.
