Key Qualifications:
- Possession of a current Kansas Sign Language Interpreter license
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Comfortable interpreting at the high school level, particularly with students in general education settings
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, and students
- Dedication to maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation for a high school sophomore, enabling full participation in classroom and school activities
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers in a variety of academic settings
- Support inclusion and engagement in the general education environment
- Prepare for classroom content, adapting interpreting techniques as needed to meet student needs
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to all policies and procedures as established by the educational setting
Details to Know:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Contract runs from ASAP through May 29
- Assigned to one student in a high school setting
