Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills, with previous experience in a VOCO setting.
- EIPA score of 4.0 (both performance and written are required), verified on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health).
- National certifications accepted (RID or NIC) if accompanied by the required written component.
- Experience interpreting for high school students preferred.
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload and adapt communication to meet students’ needs.
- Strong commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and collaboration with educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation for high school students, facilitating clear communication during classes, assignments, and school events.
