Qualifications & Credentials:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required
- Strong fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Completion of necessary certification(s) and credentialing to interpret in school settings
- Prior experience supporting children or adolescents in academic settings is preferred
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and collaborate with educators
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for 4th-8th grade students, both in classroom settings and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress and inclusion
- Adjust interpreting style as needed to suit individual student needs and classroom dynamics
- Maintain confidentiality in all student and school-related matters
- Support a positive, inclusive learning environment
