Key Qualifications:
- Achieved an EIPA score of at least 3.5
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Valid and current certification/credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Demonstrated experience interpreting in educational or youth settings preferred
- Strong sense of professionalism, dependability, and adaptability
- Comfort working with students in upper elementary to middle school grades
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between students, peers, and educators using ASL and other appropriate modes of communication
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities with accuracy and cultural sensitivity
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support students’ academic progress and participation
- Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies and interpreting ethics
- Support an inclusive and positive classroom environment for all learners
This position is structured for 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday. For your valuable skills and commitment, compensation ranges from $35 to $40 per hour, with weekly pay.
