Step into a vital role supporting students in a dynamic educational setting as a Sign Language Interpreter. This full-time, full school year opportunity is based near Littleton, CO, with work conducted onsite across multiple school sites. As part of an itinerant team, you'll facilitate communication and learning for students receiving special education and general education services, ranging from mild to severe support needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Authorization for educational sign language interpreters
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher is required
- Experience working in school environments across SPED (Special Education) and General Education preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to adapt to diverse classroom situations
- Skilled in supporting students aged preschool through high school with varying communication needs
- Flexible and organized, able to travel between multiple school sites as part of your daily assignments
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language to American Sign Language (ASL), and vice versa, for students and staff in classroom and school activities
- Support students’ access to curriculum and peer interaction in both special education and general education settings
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and educational staff to promote inclusive learning environments
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Travel between assigned schools per the itinerary schedule
