Sign Language Interpreter in Long Beach, CA

Your schedule is set: enjoy guaranteed shifts five days a week from 8:00am to 2:30pm for the first 4-6 weeks, after which the position transitions to a full-time assignment. Immediate availability is essential, as this position is an emergency backfill with an ASAP start date.
What you’ll need:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter and/or Paraprofessional in school settings
- Strong communication skills and patience in supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere for elementary and middle school students
Your contributions will include:
- Interpreting classroom instruction and school activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborating with teachers to adapt instructional materials and reinforce learning objectives
- Providing individualized or small-group support during classwork and activities
- Assisting with transitions between classes and throughout the school day
- Promoting effective communication and inclusion for students on your caseload
