What we’re seeking:
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Relevant credentialing: EIPA score of 4.0 (with written), listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry; RID or NIC also accepted (but must have the written)
- Prior experience with VOCO interpreting required
- Experience providing interpretation services for high school-aged individuals
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload and adapt to multiple school assignments (exact number of schools and caseload to be determined)
- Professionalism and adaptability within diverse educational environments
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing accurate sign language interpretation for students, educators, and staff in classroom and school-related settings
- Supporting high school students in accessing curriculum, extracurriculars, and campus communication
- Collaborating with faculty, families, and support staff to support individual student needs
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Meeting all time-sensitive compliance and credentialing requirements as outlined by the district
