Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) – Full-Time Contract
Location: Nixa, Missouri
We are seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a full-time, onsite contract position supporting an elementary student in Nixa, Missouri. This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact by providing one-on-one communication support to a first-grade student who is learning sign language.
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Location: Nixa, MO (Onsite)
Assignment Dates: August 25 – May 27
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM
Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
Caseload
One-on-one support for a 1st-grade student
Assist a student who is learning sign language in the classroom and throughout the school day
Responsibilities Include
Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation during instructional and school-related activities.
Support communication between the student, teachers, staff, and peers.
Encourage the student's language development and access to classroom instruction.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards in accordance with interpreter guidelines.
Needed Qualifications
EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) Score of 3.5 or higher.
RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
NIC (National Interpreter Certification).
Bachelors Degree or Higher in ASL or Education Interpreting.
