Pediatric 1:1 Pediatric Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Oklahoma City, OK

Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives as you support a pediatric client as a full-time Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school environment near Oklahoma City. This contract position offers the chance to work closely in a 1:1 setting, directly contributing to a student’s academic and social growth. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid license/certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) score of 4.1 or above required
- Experience in a pediatric or school-based setting, preferably 1:1 support
- Proficient in translating and interpreting for children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, educators, and families
- Willingness to work on-site in a full-time capacity
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 ASL interpretation for a pediatric student in classroom and school settings
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, peers, and educational staff
- Adapt sign language to match the student’s grade level and comprehension
- Support the student’s participation in academic, social, and extracurricular activities
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education planning as needed
