What you’ll bring:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national or state-level credentials)
- Experience working in an educational setting, especially with young children or DHH students
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and display professionalism onsite
Your daily responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate sign language interpretation between the DHH student and staff/peers
- Support academic instruction and classroom activities through clear, accessible communication
- Facilitate participation in group activities and social interactions
- Assist teachers and school staff by clarifying communication needs
- Advocate for and reinforce inclusive practices within the classroom environment
This position runs weekdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, totaling 30 hours per week. You will work one-on-one with a DHH student, providing them with the tools to thrive and succeed in their educational journey.
