What you bring:
- National Certification in Sign Language Interpretation
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Demonstrated experience working with school-aged children
- Ability to interpret effectively for a diverse range of academic subjects and age groups
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, clear interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate classroom learning and communication
- Support K-12 students with hearing impairments in a variety of educational environments, including mainstream and small group settings
- Interpret for school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities as needed
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure effective communication plans
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments
