Key Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools or comparable environments
- Ability to interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and various school activities
- Strong understanding of confidentiality protocols and the Code of Professional Conduct for interpreters
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to effectively support students, teachers, and staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for students during classroom lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular events
- Collaborate closely with teachers and special education staff to meet individual student communication needs
- Adapt interpreting style and approach to suit academic content and student preferences
- Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere to help students participate fully in school life
- Maintain accurate daily records of services provided and participate in team meetings as needed
