Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing during academic lessons, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
- Interpret spoken English into ASL and vice versa for teachers, staff, and peers as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support student learning and participation
- Assist in the preparation of classroom materials in accessible formats when necessary
- Advocate for effective communication access and help promote understanding of Deaf culture within the school community
- Participate in IEP meetings, training sessions, and other relevant school activities
