- 3.5 on EIPA and VQAS required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with experience interpreting in educational settings
- Previous work as a Sign Language Interpreter or ASL teacher in K-12 schools preferred
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Clear communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across general and special education classrooms
- Foster communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff
- Support classroom instruction, school activities, and extracurricular events as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all educational interactions
- Participate in professional meetings, workshops, and ongoing training
- Assist teachers and staff in understanding the needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students
- Prepare and maintain accurate logs and documentation related to interpreting services
