Remote Educational Sign Language Interpreter | Vermont

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with telehealth experience, serving educational settings located in Essex Junction, VT. This role requires expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation within school environments, ensuring clear and effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language, with experience interpreting in educational settings
• Previous telehealth interpretation experience is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of the needs of students with hearing impairments
• Ability to facilitate communication between students, educators, and families with professionalism and accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services during telehealth sessions and in-person educational activities
• Support access to curriculum and school communication by interpreting classroom instruction, meetings, and related interactions
• Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards for interpreters in educational settings
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other school personnel to promote effective communication and student inclusion
• Manage scheduling and communication effectively as part of a 1099 contract arrangement
