Virtual Sign Language Interpreter | Vermont
A contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school setting located in South Burlington, VT. This 1099 contract position involves providing interpreting services to support communication access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students during virtual learning and telehealth sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators or healthcare providers via telehealth platforms
- Interpret signed language accurately in real-time during remote instruction and virtual meetings
- Adapt interpreting services to suit individual student needs and various educational or clinical contexts
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in compliance with applicable regulations and ethical standards
- Collaborate with educational and clinical staff to ensure appropriate service delivery
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in Sign Language interpreting, with experience in telehealth or remote interpreting settings
- Familiarity with school or educational environments
