A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide 1:1 telehealth services supporting elementary or middle school students. This contract position requires expertise in sign language interpretation tailored to the needs of school-aged children.
Location: Lexington, SC
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation services via telehealth platforms.
- Support communication between students and educators, ensuring full accessibility.
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet individual student needs in both elementary and middle school levels.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and interactions.
- Collaborate with education staff to ensure effective communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational or telehealth settings.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with interpreting techniques for children.
- Ability to provide 1:1 support that enhances student learning and participation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate remote interpretation services.
- Availability to work full-time hours (37.5 hours per week) from ASAP through May 28, 2027.
