Virtual School Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide remote interpretation services for K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The interpreter will facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers in a virtual educational environment.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time sign language interpretation during virtual instruction and school-related activities.
Ensure students have full access to classroom content and participation opportunities.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and school personnel to support student success.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district, state, and federal guidelines.
Document services as required by the district.

Qualifications

EIPA score meeting state requirements (3.5+ preferred).
RID certification preferred but not required.
Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred.
Comfortable using virtual platforms and technology to deliver services remotely.
Reliable internet connection and dedicated workspace.
